So many fools!

"Everyone knew something was impossible, until a fool who didn't come along and did it.” (assigned to Albert Einstein)

I don’t want you think bad of someone else: I'm the fool.

There are so many projects about refurbishing PC aiming to give a new life to used PC and donate them to families, associations or ONG for free. During the very first lockdown time I did it by myself. I got some old devices, I refurbished them and I delivered as many of them as I could.

I couldn't do such a great job because I alone could reach a lot of people in need but very few donors. So, I contacted an existing group and I found Informatici Senza Frontiere (ISF).

They founded and participated to the projects Tutticonnessi and Device4All (su Roma) so any contribution could go farther. ISF has a network of other associations so they can gather more old devices to refurbish and they have selected an association to identify the need of territory.
Last, but not least, there are more technicians working and repairing PCs.

The advantages of these projects are quite evident: immediate help for the families or associations in need that get a PC to work or study or make their own activities; devices can last longer; garbage is reduced and a community concept is built.

I was excited to be part of this association and this project, but… something was still missing. The final step was coming from another association which I'm part of and is working in philosophy.

Nuova Acropoli is working in education and volunteering, inspired by the original concept of philosophy and make that concepts into social activities. They joined the project with ISF and expand it including the education.
As the original project, we get the used PCs, we repair and donate them, but in the meantime we train new people (young or not) in doing the refurbish.

The experts provide their experience to those wishing to learn. The trainee learn technical skills, procedures and teamwork, while they are working to help someone else.

Nuova Acropoli provided a lab (small but very coozy) in Rome where a small team of fools, not knowing it was impossible, made a dream come true.

Come to visit us! We are "STOICI DIGITALI" .

PS: the project is "CROSS ASSOCIATION" and all cooperate on it, let me list here and thanks for the huge efforts they did on daily bases! Thanks to Nuova Acropoli, ISF (Informatici Senza Frontiere), Nonna Roma, Reware, Rimuovendo gli Ostacoli and the others that cooperate with us occacionally.
